KEELEY funds – Adviser History

Keeley Asset Management Corp. (KAMCO) is a boutique value manager based in Chicago. The firm was founded by John L. Keeley, Jr. in 1982 and specializes in investing in companies undergoing INTERNAL CORPORATE RESTRUCTURING.

John L. Keeley, Jr., is President and Chief Investment Officer at Keeley Asset Management Corp., a registered investment adviser.

He earned his B.A. at the University of Notre Dame and his MBA at the University of Chicago. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and serves as a director of the Marquette National Corp.

Mr. Keeley started his career as a financial analyst at the Standard Oil Co. of Indiana in 1966. Associations with the Chicago Corp., London based James Capel, and Seward Securities followed until, in 1977, he established his own registered broker dealer, Keeley Investment Corp. (KIC), distributor of the KEELEY funds. He remains there as President and Treasurer.

He is married and has three children, all of whom actively participate in the firm.

John L. Keeley, Jr. founded Keeley Investment Corp, with the concept of giving his clients contract research.
1982
Keeley Asset Management was founded to satisfy client requests for individual and institutional money management.
1990
The first Mid Cap institutional account was funded, Municipal Employees' Annuity & Benefit Fund of Chicago.
1993
The KEELEY Small Cap Value Fund, Inc. a mutual fund company, was launched.
1995
The first Small Cap institutional account was funded, Firemen's Annuity and Benefit Fund of Chicago.
2005
The KEELEY Mid Cap Value Fund, a mutual fund series, was launched.
2006
The KEELEY All Cap Value Fund a mutual fund series, was launched.
2007
The KEELEY Small-Mid Cap Value Fund a mutual fund series, was launched.
